Dohogne, Anthony W. "Tony"
Anthony W. "Tony" Dohogne, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
He was born June 12, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, to Leo and Louise Diebold Dohogne. He and Doris Crosier were married Sept. 12, 1959, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death in April 2007.
Anthony served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, which included time on the Japanese cruiser Sakawa.
He retired from General Sign Co. and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was tour guide at Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church where he was a very active member and supporter. He was very proud of the part he had in the reconstruction of the church. Anthony was a Fourth Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1111.
He is survived by children, Rebecca (Tim) Wulfers of Mesa, Arizona, Mark Dohogne of Cape Girardeau and Marcia (Keith) Walker of Batesville, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Anthony Wulfers of Mesa and Kimberly Walker Davis (Rusty) of Batesville; and three great-grandchildren, Roger Braden Moore and Allen Dean Davis of Batesville and LibbyAnn Wulfers of Mesa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Old St. Vincent's Church. Prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by the Knights of Columbus rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Old St. Vincent's Church.
