Downs, Juanita (nee Schumacher)
Juanita Downs, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at her home.
She was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Frederick A. and Ruth L. Smith Schumacher. She and Edward L. Downs were married June 3, 1950, in Cape Girardeau.
Downs was a 1942 graduate of Central High School. She was employed in sales and as a clothing buyer at Bartels Store.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Edward Downs Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Albert Schumacher of Rochester, Minn.; and a sister, Pauline Young of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Graveside rites will be private, with the Rev. Jeffrey Long officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
