Dugger, Wilma Marie Johnson (nee Abernathy)

Wilma "Sissy" Marie Dugger, 81, of Cape Girardeau went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 2, 2014, after a short battle with lung cancer.

She was born Sept. 25, 1932, in Lutesville, Mo., the daughter of Delmar Harrison and Ora Choate Abernathy. She first married Ivan Leo Johnson Sr., who was the father of her children. Later she married Billy N. Dugger. Both preceded her in death.

Wilma was the owner of Sissy's Dress Shop, both in Lutesville and Cape Girardeau. She also worked as a sales lady at Hecht's in Cape Girardeau. In her later years, she operated a boarding home in Herrin, Ill., with her husband, Bill. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.

She lovingly leaves behind two daughters, Debbie Long and Julia Chandler of Cape Girardeau; a son, Ivan "Johnny" (Beverly) Johnson of Marble Hill, Mo.; grandchildren, Carrie (Clint) Tracy, Sarah (Rory) Kipper, Josh (Libby) Johnson, Emily (Packy) Johnson, Katie (Travis) Blanton, Luke (Lottie) Johnson and Lauren (Boone) Gaines; great-grandchildren, Theodore and Oliver Tracy, Jacob and Rebecca Johnson, Addie and Annie Johnson, Cole, Sarah, Ellie and Sophia Blanton and Kase Johnson; a twin brother, Bud (Lillian) Abernathy of Dallas; brother-in-law, Jim (Betty) Dugger of Herrin, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Abernathy of Cape Girardeau; and her loving companion, Don Fadler of Cape Girardeau. Many more nieces, nephews and dear friends will mourn her passing.

Her parents; brothers, James and Ben Abernathy; a sister, Rosemary Murphy; and an infant brother preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Jan. 18 at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. The Rev. Debra Tracy will officiate. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.
