Eaker, Vesta Bee (nee Devenport)
BRIDGETON, Mo. -- Vesta Bee Eaker, 85, of Florissant, Missouri, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton.
She was born April 26, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to Claude O. and Grace M. Noland Devenport.
She and William L. Eaker Sr. were married Sept. 12, 1949, at Piggott, Arkansas. He passed away April 2, 1988.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Brent D. Eaker and a daughter, Rebbecca Sue Eaker, both of Florissant; and a brother, C. Nelson (Grace) Devenport of Eureka, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, William L. Eaker Jr.; a brother, Cline Devenport; and three sisters, Lucetra M. Sperry, Adriana L. Jung and Nelda M. Devenport.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Conley officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or Centenary United Methodist Church.
