Engert, Marjella Martha (nee Wunderlich)
A funeral will be held Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 for 85-year-old Marjella Martha Engert of Cape Girardeau, who died Friday, September 26th at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 23rd, 1923 in Perry County, the daughter of Leo and Lydia (Hunt) Wunderlich, who both preceded her in death.
She married Elmer Engert on March 16th, 1946. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Larry Engert of Perryville; two daughters and a son in law, Wanda Choate of Burfordville and Betty and David DeRousse of Perryville; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Williams, Lisa Wendel, Brandi Dreyer, Michael Blackwell Jr., Dustin Blackwell, Sara Engert and Emily Engert and 13 grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances Yeager and a brother, LeRoy Wunderlich.
She was retired from a shoe factory where she was a sewing machine operator.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg and American Legion Auxiliary and an avid bingo player.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, September 29th and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 30th at the Young and Sons East Perry Chapel.
A funeral for 85-year-old Marcella Martha Engert of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg. Burial in the church cemetery.
The Rev. Jonathan Stites will officiate.
