UNIONTOWN, Mo. -- Calvin R. Enke, 87, of Uniontown died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Independence Care Center in Perryville, Mo.

He was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Altenburg, Mo., to Walter J. and Lena Wachter Enke. He and Mildred M. Erzfeld were married Nov. 18, 1947, in Perryville.

Calvin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek, Mo., and its Men's Club. He was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus. He worked at International Shoe Co. for 40 1/2 years, and served as president of the plant. He also farmed.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Enke of Uniontown; two daughters, Dorothy Schreiner of De Soto, Mo., and Doris Lungwitz of Frohna, Mo.; two sisters, Delphine Kasten and Dorothy Mueller of St. Louis; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; a sister; a son-in-law, Ron Johnson; and a grandson, Brian Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers with the Knights of Columbus will be at 7 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church at Apple Creek, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at Apple Creek.

Memorials may be made to family choice.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 for 87-year-old Calvin R Enke of Uniontown, who died April 7, 2013 at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

He was born November 11, 1925 in Altenburg, the son of Walter J. Enke and Lena Wachter Enke, who both preceded him in death.

He married Mildred M. Erzfeld on November 18, 1947 in Perryville. She survives in Uniontown.

He is also survived by two daughters: Dorothy Schreiner of De Soto and Doris Lungwitz of Frohna; two sisters: Delphine Kasten of St. Louis and Dorothy Mueller of St. Louis; five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, a sister, a son-in-law: Ron Johnson and a grandson: Brian Johnson.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Apple Creek and also the Men’s Club.

He was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus.

He worked at the International Shoe Factory for 40 ½ years, and served as president of the plant.

He also farmed.
