Estes, Lillian R. "Sally" (nee Roberts)

Lillian R. Sally Estes, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Wildersville, Tenn., daughter of Herman and Pauline Fronabarger Roberts. The Roberts family moved to Macon, Ga., in 1928 and then moved to Cape Girardeau in 1936.

After graduating from Central High School, Estes attended Southeast Missouri State University. She then graduated from the Cape Girardeau School of Beauty Culture. She was also employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Cape Girardeau.

She and Morton B. Estes were married July 3, 1943, at her family home in Cape Girardeau. They made their home in the St. Louis area for 40 years, then after retirement they moved to Jackson, where they lived 18 years. In 2000, she and her husband moved to a duplex at Saxony Village in Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Morton B. Estes; a daughter, Patricia Ann Garrison and her husband, Dennis, of Branson, Mo.; a son, Donald Lee Estes of Memphis, Tenn.; a grandson, Drew W. Garrison of Springfield, Mo.; a granddaughter, Lauren A. Estes of Memphis, Tenn., a brother, Ben H. Roberts of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and two brothers.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Carter Frey will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
