Estes, Roland "Bud", Jr.

Roland "Bud" Estes Jr., 89, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 16, 1924, in Cape Girardeau to Roland Bern and Grace Rebecca Morton Estes Sr. He and Ruth Charlotte Deevers were married Dec. 19, 1945, at Jackson. She preceded him in death.

He was a member of Lynwood Baptist in Cape Girardeau.

Bud served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was a salesman for Patrick Furniture for 38 years and was a lifetime member of both the American Legion Post 63 and VFW Post 3838.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda DeLay (Rick Farrell) of Overland Park, Kan., and Linda (Jay) Crosnoe of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Michelle Hahn-Long of Jackson and Cory (Dr. Janna) Crosnoe and Rex (Nikki) Crosnoe of Cape Girardeau; eight great-grandchildren, Layton Hahn, Landon Hahn, Corson Crosnoe, Justice Crosnoe, Chase Crosnoe, Cooper Crosnoe, Gunner Crosnoe, Carter Crosnoe; and a brother, Morton B. Estes of Springfield, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; an infant son; and a great grandchild, Brandon Hahn.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau with full military honors conducted by the Missouri Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Legion Post 63 or to Lynwood Baptist Church.
