Farmer, Everett Emro

KENNETT, Mo. -- Everett Emro Farmer, 93, of Kennett departed this life Saturday, June 2, 2012.

He was born Jan. 16, 1919, in Charleston, Mo., son of Jerry C. and Ada Baker Farmer. He and Lois Gladish were married June 12, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.

Everett served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Farmer of Kennett; two sons, Steven J. Farmer of Dyersburg, Tenn., Mark E. Farmer of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Hannah Todt and husband Cletus of Cape Girardeau; other relatives and many friends.

Everett was preceded in death by a brother, James C. Farmer; a sister-in-law, Joanne Farmer; and a sister, Margaret Davis.

The funeral was held Tuesday at First Christian Church in Kennett, with the Rev. David Everton officiating. Burial was Wednesday in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Pallbearers were Phillip Britt, Jim Storey, Thomas Kelley, Joe Farmer, Rick Geringer and Rick Carver. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Ray, Gary Ray, Tony Byrd, Ben Byrd and Gary Geringer.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
