Farrar, Charles B., Jr.

Charles B. Farrar, 80, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at his home.

He was born March 3, 1930, in St. Louis, to Charles B. Farrar Sr. and Theresa Trapp Farrar.

He and Geraldine Ponder were married May 18, 1948, at St. Joseph's Church in Apple Creek, Mo.

He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

He owned and operated Southeast Missouri Machine Co., where he was a machinist and welder.

Mr. Farrar is survived by his wife, Geraldine Farrar of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Randy Farrar (Chris) of Cape Girardeau, Daryl Farrar (Linda) and Gary Farrar (Jan), both of Gordonville; five daughters, Charlet Farrar, Bonnie Scherer (Gary) of Cape Girardeau, Marlene Glenn (Doug) of Cape Girardeau, Elaine Hopen (Mike) of Cape Girardeau, Tammy Lohmann (Dan) of Cape Girardeau; 14 grandchildren, Angela (Matt) Scherer-Bommarito, Cassie (Jim) Glenn-Worley, Brandon (Sarah) Glenn, Clint (Robin) Farrar, Darren (Julie) Scherer, Travis Farrar, Ryan Glenn, Michelle (Chris) Hopen-Stark, Dustin Farrar, Danae (Brooks) Davis-Clark, Hayle Davis, Kirk Lohmann, Charles Davis, Rachel Farrar; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kylie Farrar, Zack Glenn, Abby Worley, Gavin, Macy and Landon Bommarito, Domenic and Faith Scherer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. with a rosary immediately following.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Cathedral Building Fund, 615 William St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63703 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
