Felty, W. Quentin
W. Quentin Felty, 96, of Millersville, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Jackson Manor.
He was born April 13, 1917, in Millersville, son of Walter & Myrtie Limbaugh Felty. He and Virginia Summers were married December 21, 1938, at Marble Hill, MO.
Quentin farmed all of his life in the Millersville area. He was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church near Millersville. He served as a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent for many years. He served as the Memorial Card Chairman for the Gideon’s International for several years. Quentin was the Secretary and Treasurer for the Fairview Memorial Cemetery and served as a Board Member of the Gordonville Mutual Insurance Company.
Loving survivors include his wife, Virginia, of 74 years; a son, Virgil (Loudeen) Felty of Millersville; 2 daughters: Carol (Jim) Sawyer of O’Fallon, MO and Saundra (Don) Crader of Marble Hill.
Also surviving are 5 Grandchildren: Sherri Berry, Debra (Colin) Fjerstad, Randy (Paula) Sawyer, Tom (Kim) Sawyer, Dean (Chris)Sawyer; 12 Great grandchildren: Ryan, Jessica, & Justin Sawyer; Kurtis & Amy Fjerstad; Kellie, Sarah, & Rachel Berry; Cassidy & Shelby Sawyer; Amber Archer; and Quentin Sawyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Alt, Webster, Edwin, & Kermit Felty.
Friends may call Sunday, October 27, 2013, from 4 pm to 8 pm, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Funeral service will be Monday, October 28, 2013, at 11 AM, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with the Rev. Randy Sawyer and Rev. Jimmy Corbin officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Millersville.
