Floyd, Lorene Helen (nee Tinker)
Lorene Helen Floyd, 94, of Jackson, MO, formerly of Cape Girardeau died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Monticello House.
She was born April 23, 1918 in Patterson, MO to Haskel H. and Mary Loraine Welch Tinker . She graduated from Patterson High School.
Lorene and Wilbur "Wimpy" Floyd were married August 20, 1938 at Jackson, Mo. He died July 2, 2005.
Mrs. Floyd had worked for Superior Electric for 15 yrs. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3838 Auxiliary and she enjoyed playing bridge.
She attended the Mt. Auburn Christian Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include :
Son - Jack Edward (Brenda) Floyd, Jackson, MO Daughter - Mary L. (Charles, Jr.) Schlegel, Tempe, AZ
Grandchildren - Jack Floyd, Jr., David Floyd, Joy Floyd, Rebecca Dieterman, Victoria Henderson, Mary Frances Scott Michael Lee Floyd Jr, Trevor Floyd and Travis Floyd
18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband , son, Michael Lee Floyd, brother and great grandson
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel with the Rev.Don Estes officiating.
Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
