Francis, Charles L.
FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Charles L. Francis, 71, of Fredericktown passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Jan. 12, 1942, at Slabtown, Mo., son of David and Esther Parsons Francis Sr. He and Evelyn Underwood were married Feb. 27, 1960, at Coppermines Free Will Baptist Church in Fredericktown.
Charles was a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, fishing and baseball.
He served in the Missouri National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three daughters, Charlet (David) Pense of Fredericktown, Judy (Shane) Dobbelare of Perryville, Mo., and Becky (Mark) Stamp of Fredericktown; two sisters, Nancy (Rodger) Matthews and Kathy (Kevin) Hill of Fredericktown; six grandchildren, Chelsea Pense, Cristen Pense, Jacob Dobbelare, Luke Dobbelare, Bailey Stamp and Lexie Stamp.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Francis Jr.
The funeral was held Friday at Meadow Heights Baptist Church, with Bryan Mills and Jeremiah Dietiker officiating. Burial was in Christian Cemetery.
Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown was in charge of arrangements.
