PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Kenneth P. French, 84, of Perryville died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. An American Legion wake will be held at 6:30 tonight.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

A funeral will be held Thursday, December 10th, 2009 for 84-year-old Kenneth P. French of Perryville who died Monday, December 7, 2009 at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

He was born in Silver Lake July 4, 1925, son of Arthur H. and Ellen (Heaps) French who both preceded him in death.

He married Etta June Lukefahr in June 1946. She preceded him in death.

He then Melissa Jean Vinson on July 3, 1982. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons: Calvin (Billie) French of Fenton, Gary French of Warrenton; a step daughter Debbie (Thomas) Piva of Arnold; a brother: Clovis French of Perryville; two sisters: Ruby Cox of O’Fallon and Judy Gromer of Fenton; six grandchildren: Eric, Joe, Matt, Ronnie, Brian and Mike French; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Curtis, Herbert French and a sister: Leona Drury.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, WW II Army Veteran, and American Legion Post 133.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 9th and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday, December 10th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home. An American Legion Wake will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

A funeral for 84-year-old Kenneth P. French of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 10th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or School.
