Friese, Luther L. "Bud"

JACKSON, Mo. -- Luther "Bud" Friese, 67, of Jackson died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at his home.

He was born Oct. 7, 1934, at Sedgewickville, Mo., son of Albert and Dona Edna Hobeck Friese. He and Alene Wilson were married Sept. 27, 1953, at Sedgewickville.

Friese briefly worked with his brother, Oda, as a carpenter. He began working with Crites Farms in 1955, retiring in 2000, and also built homes for Cap Crites.

Friese had taught Sunday school and children's church at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, and recently became a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry and Stanley Friese of Jackson; three daughters, Carolyn Monier of Perryville, Mo., Pat Overbeck of Pocahontas, Mo., Sharon Werner of Jackson; two brothers, Oda and Ora Friese of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Ella Yeager of Oak Ridge, Jane Wille of Jackson; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; three stepgrandchildren; and 10 great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Dr. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery near Daisy, Mo.
