Fulbright, Arthur Calvin, Rev. Dr.
The Rev. Dr. Arthur C. Fulbright passed away in his home surrounded by family on Aug.
15, 2009, in Greenwood. Dr. Fulbright was born in Malden, Mo., on March 5, 1923. He was
married Oct. 11, 1941, to Geraldine Bell. Together they served the United Methodist Church
in the Missouri Conference for 44 years. The Fulbrights retired in 1984 from the Missouri
Methodist Conference and moved to Greenwood in 1991 to be near their family.
Dr. Fulbright was a World War II veteran and an avid fisherman. He will be remembered by
all who knew him for his compassion, tolerance and love of God. He will be missed not only
by his family but any person who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was loved.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Geraldine Fulbright of the home; daughters,
Marilyn Clements and her husband, J.L., of Greenwood, Pam Killough, widow of the late
Foster Killough of Greenwood, and LaRhondda Hardy, and her husband, Mike, of Greenwood;
grandchildren, Stephanie and Wayne Robb, Ronnie and Leslie Clements, Ragon and Lynette
Clements, Meredith Norris, Kelly and Joe Schmitz, Micky and Janae Hardy, Brannon and Jil
Powers and Erika Hardy; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister and
two brothers.
Dr. Fulbright was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a son-in-law.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at Woodlands United Methodist Church,
7804 Rogers Ave., in Fort Smith, under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of
Greenwood.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. at the Woodlands Methodist Church, and the memorial service
will be at 11 a.m.
Interment will be at a family cemetery in southeast Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Woodlands United
Methodist Church.
