Funke, Ernest M. "Ernie"

A funeral will be held Saturday, October 28th for 80-year-old Ernest M. "Ernie" Funke of Perryville who died Thursday, October 26th at the Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born March 10, 1920 in Longtown, the son of Adolph and Clara (Hacker) Funke, who preceded in death.

He married Leola Leible on July 31st, 1948. She survives in Longtown.

He is also survived by a son and daughter in law: Steve and Pattie Funke of Washington; and by a daughter, Jane Funke of Imperial.

Two grandchildren also survive.

Five brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

He was a retired salesman from Goldman's Clothing Store.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown, American Legion Post No. 133, VFW Post No. 4282 and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 28th from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville and from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown.

A funeral for 80-year-old Ernest M. "Ernie" Funke will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28th at the Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate.

Memorials are preferred to the Southeast Hospice or to the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
