Gabbert, Doris L. (nee Bachmann)
Doris L. Gabbert, age 90 of Henderson, died at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 at Centennial Lutheran Church in Henderson at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Henderson. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery, Henderson. Rev. Robert Hines will officiate the services.
Doris was born on Jan. 7, 1922 to Rudolph and Frieda (Mismer) Bachmann in Farrar, MO. She married Gordon Gabbert on Dec. 4, 1943 in St. Louis, MO. The couple moved to Henderson shortly after they were married where they owned and operated the Gabbert Grociery Store for over 34 years. She also did some part-time secretarial work for Aid Assoc. for Lutheran Insurance (Thrivant) for over 42 years. She was a long time member of the American Legion Aux, Henderson Business Assoc, Henderson Chamber of Commerce since 1982. She also enjoyed helping with Sauerkraut Days in Henderson every year.
Doris is survived by her two children; Linda Meehl and her special friend Wally Buck of Henderson, MN Kenneth Gabbert of Henderson, MN Grandson; Arron Brown of Eagle Lake, MN Great-Granddaughter; Kassandra Brown Siblings; Ed (Marilyn) Bachmann of Eureka, MO Ellen (Barry) Schultes of Chesterfield, MO Florence Neu of Perryville, MO Ruby (Marvin) Mueller of Perryville, MO Neoma (Hilmer) Schuessler, Perryville, MO Robert (Darlene) Bachmann of Frohna, MO Sister-in-Law; Mildred Bachmann
She is preceded in death by her husband Gordon, (1987) and brother, Vernon Bachmann
