Garland, Thelma Loraine (nee Barks)
PATTON, Mo. -- Thelma Loraine Garland, 90, of Patton passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at NHC in St. Charles, Mo.
She was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Sedgewickville, Mo., daughter of Phillip and Estella Cook Barks. She and William Vern Garland were married Sept. 17, 1947.
Loraine was a teacher and member of Little Whitewater Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Blaser of Washington, Mo.; two grandchildren, Eric Blaser of Foristell, Mo., and Amy Gore of Lake St. Louis; and three great-granddaughters.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Vern; parents; and a son, William Lindell "Bill" Garland.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Burial will be in Pulliam Cemetery near Scopus, Mo.
