Garrison, Dora Helen (nee Statler)
Last rites for Mrs. Dora S. Garrison, 94, of Cape Girardeau, were held at 1:30 p.m. April 7, at Ford and Sons Funeral Chapel, Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Garrison died at St. Francis Medical Center April 7, 1987. She was born in Bakers-Mill April 10, 1892, a daughter of the late Peter Amos and Sarah Elizabeth Bowers Statler. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and its UMW and Wimodausis Club.
She was a nurse for many years, in hospitals and in homes.
Survivors include a son, Fred T. Brown of Galesburg, Ill; a daughter, Ruth Rowland of Jefferson City; two brothers, the Rev. Fred J. Statler of St. Louis and Theodore L. Statler of Maryland Heights; a sister, Dessie Bollinger of Millersville; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers and five sisters.
