Geringer, Lonnie Lucas

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lonnie L. Geringer, 93, of Perryville died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rickey Valleroy officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by the Missouri Delta Team.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2009 for 93-year-old Lonnie L. Geringer of Perryville who died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau

He was born in Longtown November 1, 1915, the son of the Lucas and Louisa (Bohnert) Geringer who both preceded him in death.

He married Johanna Renner April 11, 1950. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: David and Linda Geringer of Perryville; a brother: Roy Geringer of Highland, Texas; a sister: Aline Valleroy of Perryville; three grandchildren: Cassandra (Kurt) Goldsmith, Derrick (Sarah) Geringer and Dylan Geringer; and three great-grandchildren.

He retired after 36 years with the Missouri Department of Transportation as maintenance foreman.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post 133 and WW II Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers; Robert and Wilbert Geringer, three sisters; Leona Geringer, Mary Herold and Leneta Cattoor and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesday from at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral service for 93-year-old Lonnie L. Geringer will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 at Young and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rickey Valleroy officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military graveside rites performed by Missouri Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to Masses or St. Vincent de Paul Schools.
