Gerlach, Wendell Edward
Wendell Edward Gerlach, 80, of Hillsboro, Missouri, entered into rest Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Crystal City, Missouri.
He was born May 18, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, to Edward and Louise Kirchhoff Gerlach.
Wendell retired as a salesman with Jewel Tea Co. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Wingard Gerlach: a son, Timothy (Renee) Gerlach of Hillsboro; a daughter, Karen (Paul) Gerlach-Pullmann of Las Vegas; a brother, Kevin Gerlach of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Cameron, Alexandria, Edward, Timmy and Abigail; and two great-grandchildren, Angel and Aurora.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Gerlach, and a brother, Richard Gerlach.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mahn Funeral Home, 515 Collins Drive in Festus, Missouri.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
