Gibbar, Cecilia M. (nee Maddock)
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Cecilia M. Gibbar, 91, formerly of Perryville, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Parkside Meadows Nursing Center in St. Charles, Mo.
She was born April 23, 1917, at Lithium, Mo., daughter of Henry L. and Magdalen M. Brewer Maddock. She and Percy J. Gibbar Sr. were married Oct. 25, 1941, at Brewer, Mo. He died April 27, 2001.
Gibbar was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 4282 and Western Catholic Union.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald (Sue) Gibbar of Okotoks, Alberta, Canada, Percy (Julie) Gibbar Jr. of Joshua Tree, Calif., David (Gayle) Gibbar of St. Louis; a daughter, Sharon (Ron) Rahn of St. Charles, Mo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
