Gibbar, Mary Philomena (nee Jannin)

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, for 86-year-old Mary P. Gibbar, of Perryville, who died Friday.

She was born on March 9, 1913 in Perry County, the daughter of Marcellus and Mary Louise (Seifert) Jannin. She married Clarence Gibbar on September 10, 1935, and he preceded in death in 1984.

She is survived by one daughter; Faye Amschler of Perryville, one son; Kenneth Gibbar of Cape Girardeau, two sisters; Alma Anderson of Perryville and Gladys Gibbar of Silver Lake. Also surviving are two brothers; Vince Jannin and Lester Jannin, both of Silver Lake. Six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, five brothers, and four sisters.

Mrs. Gibbar was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, and was a nurses aide at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was a retired nurse's aid at Perry County Nursing Home.

Visitation will be on Monday, from 4 - 9 pm, at the Miller Family Funeral Home, in Perryville. Additional visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 6:30 - 9:50. The Parish Wake with the Daughters of Isabella will be at 6:30pm on Monday, and the the Rosary will be recited at 9am, Tuesday, at the funeral home.

A funeral service for Mary Gibbar, of Perryville, will be on Tuesday, at 10am, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz C.M. will officiate, and burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Endowment Fund.
