Gibbar, Vincent Melvin "Pete"

Funeral service will be held Friday, March 24, 2000 for 76-year-old Vincent M. (Pete) Gibbar who died Tuesday, March 21, 2000 at his home in Perryville.

He was born on Feb. 26, 1924 in Perry County, the son of the late Clell and Emma Kline Gibbar.

He was married to Erna C. Behrle. She survives in Perryville.

Children surviving are Kathy, Mrs. Fred Leible, of Perryville; Faye, Mrs. Jim Wibbenmeyer, of Perryville; and Bruce Gibbar of Perryville.

Two sisters, Elba Walker and Velma Lee Huber, both of Perryville; and two brothers, Percy Gibbar of Perryville, and Lester Gibbar of St. Charles, survive her.

Six grandchildren and three grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Gibbar was a carpenter, working for Wettereau Corp. before his retirement. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the American Legion; and a member of the Royal Order of Fleas.

Mr. Gibbar was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 23 from 5-9 p.m. and Friday, March 24, 2000 from 6:30-9:50 a.m. at the Miller Family Funeral Home. There will be a parish wake service at 6:30 p.m. and an American Legion service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday; and the rosary at 9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral Mass for Vincent M. (Pete) Gibbar will be held Friday, March 24, 200 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church. Rev. Kevin P. Fausz, C.M. will officiate. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
