MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- James "J.D.-Jimmy" Gibbons, 47, of Marble Hill died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 1, 1960, at Chaffee, Mo., son of James M. and Carolyn V. Seabaugh Gibbons. He and Angela M. Holmes were married Dec. 29, 1990.

Gibbons was a machinist with Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Railroad Union.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David Gibbons of the home; his parents of Leopold, Mo.; a brother, Ira Gibbons of Jackson; two sisters, Karen Gibbons of Leopold and Kathy Hendrix of Chaffee.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to service time at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with David Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Fork Cemetery.

A funeral will be held Thursday, May 31st, 2007 for 47-year-old James "J.D." "Jimmy" Gibbons of Marble Hill, who died Monday, May 28th at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau after a long battle with cancer.

He was born April 1st, 1960, the son of James M. and Carolyn V. (Seabaugh) Gibbons who survive in Leopold.

He married Angela M. Holmes on December 29th, 1990. She survives in Marble Hill.

He is survived by one son, David J. Gibbons of the home; a brother and sister in law, Ira and Crystal Gibbons of Jackson; two sisters and a brother in law, Kathy and Travis Hendrix of Chaffee and Karen Gibbons of Leopold; his mother in law, Shirley Moonier Brandes of Perryville; his father in law, David Holmes; his grandmother in law, Marjorie Moonier; aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews.

He was a machinist for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Railroad Union.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 30th and 6:30-10 a.m. Thursday, May 31st at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 47-year-old James "J.D." "Jimmy" Gibbons of Marble Hill, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31st, at the Young and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville. David Holmes will officiate.

Burial will be in the Cedar Fork Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
