Gilbreath, Edith May (nee Watson)

Edith M. Gilbreath, 82 of Havana, IL. Died on August 14, 2006 at Mason District Hospital. She was born on May 26, 1924 in Havana, IL to George H. and Eta K. Haage-Watson. She married Glenn K. Gilbreath on March 8, 1944 in Fairmont City, IL.

Edith has one son- Gary Gilbreath of Havana, IL, one great-grandson, two step- great-grandchildren, and one granddaughter Melissa Glaub of Metamora, IL. She has one twin sister June Martin, of Havana, and 5 sisters Vivian Kromer of Havana, IL, Barbara Moore of Havana, Georgia Burgett of Ipava, Carolyn Rictor of Ipava, Wanda Tibbs of Petersburg and one brother- Daniel Watson of Pekin. She was preceded in death by one infant brother and one sister.

She was a member of Havana Central Christian Church, VFW Ladies Aux. of post 6408, and participated in many volunteer projects. She worked at Hiraim Walker of Peoria, the tree nursery and Havana Turkey Plant as well as in her own home.

Services are going to be held on Thursday August 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home with a one hour before visitation at Hurley Funeral Home. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Hurley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's or Havana Pets without Parents.
