Godwin, Lillian Maude (nee Propst)
Lillian Maude Godwin, 88, formerly of Jackson, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at The Heritage at Lake Forrest in Sanford, Fla.
She was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Millersville, daughter of Thomas A. and Flossie V. Statler Propst. She and John Elwood Godwin were married May 5, 1946, in Jackson. He died May 13, 2003.
Godwin attended the former Cape Girardeau Business School. She worked at the former Bowman-Milling Co., the former Cape County Bank, and for Judge Osler Statler in his money order business. She was a secretary many years at the former Mueller-Statler law office, later at Wib's Drive In, and for her mother at Flossie's Cafe.
Survivors include a son, Terry Godwin of Jackson; a daughter, Brenda Holder of Lake Mary, Fla.; a granddaughter; and a great- grandson.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
A private graveside service was held Thursday at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with the Rev. Rocky Tallent officiating.
