Alta Sylvia Erwin Graff passed away at her home in Lithium surrounded by her family and caregivers on March 5, 2015.  Alta was 94 years of age.

She was born September 27, 1920 in Lithium, MO, the youngest of seven children born to Elia and Rosa Feltz Erwin.

Alta and Edward “Albert” Graff were united in Holy Matrimony on December 19, 1954.  Albert preceded her in death on January 5, 2003

Alta was of the Baptist Faith, attending worship services in her home town of Lithium.  As a young woman Alta could be found working in the family store in Lithium later to be employed at the Brown Shoe Factory in Perryville, and later Prince Gardener billfold factory in St. Mary, MO.   Alta also took pride in her many, beautiful, one of a kind, handmade quilts that she so skillfully made.  She was diligent about keeping records of everyone who was given or purchased one of her handmade works of art.  The other highlight in her life was enjoying the large beautiful rose garden that her husband Albert had planted, nurtured and maintained which was directly behind their home in Lithium.

Albert and Alta were never blessed with children, but they had plenty of love to go around for their many nieces and nephews.  Alta has other family members residing in Texas and Oregon, as well as locally.

Alta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Anthony “Tony” Erwin, Arthur “Shorty” Erwin, Alphonso Erwin, Alfred “Ned” Erwin, Andrew Erwin; and her only sister, Anna Asia Erwin Graff.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, March 8 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and on Monday, March 9 from 6:30 am until time of service at 10:00 am Rev. Don Estes  and Rev. Gerold McBride co-officiating.   Burial in Home Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Lithium Baptist Church or Rough Road Rescue
