Griesse, Doris Virginia (nee Schamburg)
Doris Virginia Schamburg Griesse, 81, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in a local hospital.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1922, in Friedenburg, Mo.
She was a homemaker, a longtime member of First Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the widow of the Rev. W.E. Griesse.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Fort Smith with a private graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by five daughters, Deborah of Little Rock, Sandra of Amarillo, Texas, Beverly of Boulder, Colo., Martha of Memphis and Susan of London, England; four sons, Dennis of Fayetteville, Kurt, David, and Dan, all of Fort Smith; two sisters, Evelyn Schamburg of Denver and Verna Hagan of Perryville, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Don Cholcher, Lou Fellwock, Bob Lindow, Joe McKinney, Sandy Porter, William Shaver III, Ray Ussery and Billy Bob Williams.
