Grossheider, Wilbert A.

Wilbert A. Grossheider, 88, of Jackson, formerly of Perryville, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Jackson Manor.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. An American Legion wake will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, with the Revs. Adam Mueller and Roger Steinbrueck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.

Wilbert A. Grossheider.of Jackson, formerly of Perryville, MO died October 13, 2010 at Jackson Manor in Jackson. He was 88.

He was born in Friedheim, MO on September 7, 1922 son of the late William and Clara (Zoellner) Grossheider. He and Ursula Fleischhauer were married on July 20, 1947. She survives in Perryville, MO.

Other survivors include a daughter, Doris and (Rev. Roger) Martin of Perryville; one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Nelson Grossheider and three sisters, Wilma Hopfer, Delma Frentzel and Norma Clements.

Mr. Grossheider had been a farmer and a yardman for Kiefer Building Supply. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim where he was baptised September 24, 1922 and confirmed April 5, 1936 and a member of American Legion Post 133 and an Army veteran of WW II

Visitation for Mr. Grossheider will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, October 16 from 4 to 8 pm, with an American Legion Wake at 7 pm and on Sunday, October 17 from 8 to 11 am. He will then be taken to Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim for service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Adam Mueller and Rev. Roger Steinbrueck co-officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 133 and MO Delta Team.
