Hahn, Luther Edward "Ed"

Edward "Ed" Hahn, 94, of Jackson passed away Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Lutheran Residential Care East in Cape Girardeau, where he and his wife had resided since June 3.

He was born May 28, 1911, in Millersville, son of John and Lucinda Stroder Hahn. He and Lillian Brown were married July 13, 1932, in Jackson. They would have celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary this July 13.

A private first class, Ed served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Ed and Lillian moved from Scopus to Jackson in 1933. He worked 42 years at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson, retiring in 1976. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and its Men's Club, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, Excelsior Masonic Lodge 441, Order of Eastern Star 91, all in Jackson, and Scottish Rite 320 in St. Louis. He also enjoyed gardening and was a skilled carpenter.

Loving survivors include his wife, Lillian; a daughter, and son-in-law, Saundra and Clarence "Dub" Suedekum Jr. of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson after noon today.

A Masonic service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, followed immediately by the funeral. The Revs. John Rice and Jimmy Corbin will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New McKendree United Methodist Church or Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
