Hahn, Willard R.

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Willard R. Hahn, 88, of Marble Hill died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Bollinger County, Mo., son of Jacob M. and Laura M. Eaker Hahn. He and Ferneita A. DuLaney were married Sept. 3, 1938, in Jackson.

Hahn owned and operated Hahn Market 30 years in Lutesville. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and its choir, was an usher, served on the board of trustees and in other capacities.

He served on the Lutesville Town Board until the towns of Lutesville and Marble Hill consolidated, then served on Marble Hill Town Board, and served on the Lutesville and Woodland school boards.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Harold Hahn of Wentzville, Mo., Gary Hahn of Hillsboro, Mo., James Hahn of Festus, Mo.; three daughters, Carol Stone and Gail Halbert of Cape Girardeau, Anita Smith of Evansville, Ind.; a sister, Juanita Sample of Marble Hill; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, a grandchild, and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Kelpe officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
