Hahs, Anna Mae (nee Amos)

Anna Mae Hahs of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.

She was born July 26, 1917, at Allenville, daughter of Robert N. and Myrtle Byrne Amos. She and Ernest Lee Hahs were married Aug. 9, 1941. He died Sept. 13, 1991.

Anna Mae was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Cape Girardeau. She was a former member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson, and a charter member of the Mary and Martha Circle of that church.

Mr. and Mrs. Hahs were longtime residents of Jackson, where Anna Mae had been active as a den mother and Girl Scout leader. They moved to Cape Girardeau in 1965, where they owned Hahs Office Equipment until their retirement in 1982.

Loving survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Fred O. Jones of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Hahs of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Tanja Bohnert of Mississippi, Jolie McCallister and husband Brian of Gordonville, Tammy Monia and husband Keith of Cape Girardeau, Scott Hahs and wife Carolyn, Frederick Jones and wife Shirlee, Jennie Webb and husband David, and Polly Koch and husband Kent, all of Jackson; three brothers, James Amos of Kalamazoo, Mich., Max and Nelson Amos of Jackson; three sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Delta, Lois Eichhorn of Cape Girardeau, Mary Dannenmueller of Chaffee, Mo.; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and many dear nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Lee Hahs of Cape Girardeau; an infant son, John Robert Hahs; two brothers, Robert Amos and Jack Amos.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
