Hahs, Gregory Lee

Greg Hahs, 61, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 26, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, son of Ernest L. and Anna Mae Amos Hahs. He and Sharon Wilson were married April 10, 1965.

Greg was a 1960 graduate of Jackson High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard Reserve from 1962 to 1966.

He worked nine years as general manager for the former W.T. Grant Department Stores, and nine years as district supervisor for the former 7-Eleven Convenience Stores.

Greg then co-owned and operated the former Hahs Office Equipment until 1999. He and his wife had owned and operated Heartland Antique Emporium since 1984.

Loving survivors include his wife, Sharon; his mother, Anna Mae Hahs of Cape Girardeau; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Carolyn Hahs of Jackson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Keith Monia of Cape Girardeau, Jennie and David Webb of Jackson; a sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Fred Jones of Jackson; seven grandchildren; a daughter by a previous marriage, Tanja Bohnert, and her four children. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson, with a Missouri Military Honors service. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
