Hahs, Lindell Eli

SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Lindell E. "Linn" Hahs, 82, of Sedgewickville passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Sedgewickville, son of Ora and Minnie Statler Hahs. He and Hazel Marie Lukefahr were married Nov. 23, 1941, in Sedgewickville.

Linn served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, from Jan. 18, 1943, to Feb. 2, 1946, as a medical technician.

He received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the former Southeast Missouri State College, graduating in 1950. He had been a member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church since 1978, and had served on the Sedgewickville Town Board and Park Board from 1991 to 2003.

Linn was a member of Westview Lodge 101 of Millersville, and was a 32nd Degree York Rite member. He retired while working for Miracle Ear in 1995.

Loving survivors include his wife, Hazel; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey L. and Anita K. Hahs, and their sons, Adam and Austin, all of Oak Ridge; a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Billy G. and Eliouse Hahs of Mount Vernon, Ill.; three sisters, Marie Statler of Cape Girardeau, Viola Twidwell of Farmington, Mo., and Lewana Weiss and her husband Dale of Columbia, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kirk A. Hahs, June 8, 1977; two brothers, and three sisters.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at Sedgewickville United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Revs. Jerry Statler and James N. Brice Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Sedgewickville Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Sedgewickville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Missouri Veterans Home.
