He was born Sept. 5, 1929, at Campbell, and was married to Doris Cashion on April 22, 1950, in Piggott.  She survives.  He was a member of the Campbell General Baptist Church and the Campbell Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Other survivors include five children, Dale Hanners of Campbell, Harold Hanners, John Hanners, Almus Hanners and Nancy Striegel, all of Hobbs; one sister, Erma Hensley of Arkansas; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Landess Funeral Home at Campbell, with the Rev. Ronnie Stevens officiating.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell.   Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where Odd Fellows rites will be at 7:30 p.m.
