Hartle, Doris Ethel Thacker (nee Friese)
Doris Ethel Friese Hartle, 90, of St. Peters, Mo., died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Spencer Place Assisted Living in St. Peters.
She is survived by a daughter, Carole Schwab; a grandson, Todd Cowell; a brother, Norval Friese; two sisters-in-law, Madge and Ella Friese; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Thacker, who passed away in 1945, and Kenneth Hartle, who passed away in 1997. She was also preceded by her parents, Burnie and Lillie Crites Friese; two brothers, Carl and Eugene Friese; a sister-in-law, Louise Friese; and a nephew, Chuck Friese.
Doris loved books, bowling, crafts, games, puzzles and square dancing.
Her family and friends will miss her strength, independence and lively spirit.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School Library Fund, 115 S. Sixth St., St. Charles, MO 63301.
