Hayden, Vivian R. (nee Barnes)

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Vivian R. Hayden, 86, of Perryville died Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at her home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, Missouri, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Vivian R. Hayden, 86, of Perryville died February 2, 2015 at her residence.

She was born October 16, 1928 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of Walter and Zita (Comte) Barnes. She and Melvin Hayden were married on October 6, 1951. He survives in Perryville, MO.

Vivian was a home maker, farmer’s wife, and loving mother and grandmother. She worked side by side with Melvin on the farm. She loved to play cards and spending time with her family. She had worked at the shoe factory. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality in Sereno.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon (David) Flavin of Maryland Heights, MO, Renee (Robert) Buatte of St. Charles, MO, Kimberly (Dale) Blechle of Perryville; two sisters, Wilma "Sis" Sawyer and Zita (Harold) Holden all of Alton, IL; five grandchildren, Stacey, Stephanie (Hoss), Kyle (Rachel), Brandon and Tory; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Lillian and Hadlee; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark; and two brothers, Leo and Walter "Popeye" Barnes.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, February 5 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with rosary at 5:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 am. She will then be taken to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno for Mass at 10:00 am with Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Southeast Hospice or Masses
