Heberlie, Gladys Lorene (nee Kennon)

STE. GENEVIEVE — Gladys Lorene Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve went to rest in the arms of Christ on Monday, July 23, 2012, at the age of 93.  She was born on May 30, 1919, in Perry County the daughter of the late William  and Katie  (Miller) Kennon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Patrick Heberlie in 2001; two daughters, Wilma Tucker and Delores Boltz; brothers, Lester, Ralph and Ray "Bud" Kennon. 

Gladys will be remembered as the ultimate homemaker who was a wonderful baker.  She also enjoyed gardening and quilting.  Every year she spent hours planting roses and tending to her many varieties of flowers.    Taking long walks was one of her favorite pastimes.  She enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren. 

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Mrs. Alfred) Wilfong of Ste. Genevieve; her grandchildren, Suzanne Miniea, Terry Wilfong, Sandy (Mrs. Michael) Winick, Gary Wilfong and wife, Melissa, Diane (Mrs. Phillip) Norris, Debra (Mrs. Edward) Wann, Aaron Boltz and wife, Elizabeth, Geoffrey Boltz, and Daniel Boltz and wife, Melody; nineteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a host of extended relatives and good friends.      

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.  Memorials may be made to the Whitewater Cemetery or Serenity Hospice.
