Hecht, Aline M. (nee Schmidt)

ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Aline M. Hecht, 83, of Altenburg died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

She was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Perry County, daughter of Martin J. and Leah Bachmann Schmidt. She and Milton B. Hecht were married Oct. 24, 1948.

Hecht was a cook at St. Louis Green Park Lutheran School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg and its Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Martin Hecht; a daughter, Nancy Hecht, both of St. Louis; two brothers, Delbert Schmidt of Altenburg, Melvin Schmidt of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Dorothy Hemman of Brazeau, Mo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Aline M. Hecht of Altenburg died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Independence Care Center of Perry County. She was 83.

She was born October 24, 1925 in Perry County, MO., the daughter of the late Martin J. & Leah (Bachmann) Schmidt. She was married October 24, 1948 to Milton B. Hecht for sixty years who survives in Perryville.

Mrs. Hecht was a cook at St. Louis Green Park Lutheran School.

Other survivors include one son Martin (Maureen) Hecht, and one daughter Nancy Hecht both of St. Louis, two brothers Delbert Schmidt of Altenburg, Melvin Schmidt of Cape Girardeau, and one sister Dorothy Hemman of Brazeau, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Dennis Hecht and David Hecht.

Mrs. Hecht was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, LWML, Altenburg Senior Citizens, and Fun Club.

Memorials are preferred for Lutheran Heritage Museum or Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

Visitation will be from 4:00 -8:00 pm on Saturday, March 7th and 8:00 – 11:30 am Sunday at Young & Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

The funeral will be at 1:00 pm Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
