Helderman, Bobby A.

Bobby A. Helderman, 78, of Jackson, formerly of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at Monticello House in Jackson.

He was born at home on Jan. 26, 1936, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Woodrow and Loeta Brown Helderman.

Bobby graduated from the former Lutesville High School in 1955. He was associated with the Jackson Police Department for 12 years, and was a television technician at the former Southard's TV for 40 years. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. Always an avid horseman, he was a lifetime member of the Jackson Trail Riders for 47 years, and was the first club president. He was a breeder and raised registered Tennessee Walking Horses for many years.

Loving survivors include; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen (Jerry) Hitt of Millersville; nieces, Debbie (Chuck) Thurman of Marble Hill, Kandi (Doug) Smith of Arnold, Missouri, Bobbie (Sean) Reagan and Beckie (Mike) Tripp of Jackson; great-nieces and -nephews, Samantha (Lance) Trankler of Burfordville, Corey (Kalyn) Thurman of Jackson, Bennett, Emilee and Livvy Smith of Arnold, Missouri, Barrett, Blayne and Brock Reagan, Mallorie, Peyton and Dawson Maintz, Taylor and Micayla Tripp, all of Jackson; and a great-great-niece and -nephews, Delaynie and Landon Trankler of Burfordville and Jaxon Thurman of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts and uncles.

Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the New McKendree radio broadcast.
