Hendershott, James "Jim" Loyd

JACKSON, Mo. -- James Loyd "Jim" Hendershott, 66, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girar-deau.

He was born Dec. 2, 1935, at Hahn in Bollinger County, Mo., son of Early and Dora Shell Hendershott. He and Mary Jane Lacy were married Aug. 31, 1957, at St. Peters, Mo.

Mr. Hendershott worked at Procter & Gamble many years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and the local chapter of National Wild Turkey Federation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Loving survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Debbie Hendershott, two grandsons, Clint and Kirk Hendershott, all of Cape Gir-ardeau; a brother, Charlie E. Hendershott of Senath, Mo.; four sisters, Laura I. Tallent of St. Louis, Mabel M. Dinkins of Grassy, Mo., Clara E. Hemmann of Uniontown, Mo., Lillian L. Rouggly of St. Louis; two sisters-in-law, Virgie Hendershott of Cape Girardeau, June Hendershott of Marble Hill, Mo.; and a brother-in-law, Leeman Payne of Cape Girar-deau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jim Matthews and the Rev. Johnny Clements will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Red Star Baptist Church.
