OPAL HINKLE, 6, KILLED BY AUTO; FUNERAL SATURDAY

Opal Hinkle, the little 6-year-old daughter of Mrs. Johnson Hinkle was run down and crushed to death by an automobile on the Egypt Mills bend road a mile north of the city late Friday afternoon. The little girl was on her way home from Washington school at the time and was walking out the road hand in hand with her sister, Dorothy, 10 years of age. The mother was at work at the shoe factory and was nearly prostrated when informed a short time after the accident occurred that her daughter was dead.......The body was removed to the mother's home, a half mile furthereast on the bend road, where she and her two children lived with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Estes.

The death of the child was unusually shocking to the bereaved mother, who lost her husband, Johnson Hinkle, only seven months ago. They then lived on South Spanish street in this city...

The funeral will be held Saturday at the house and interment will be at Hobbs Chapel on the bend road. A large number of the classmates of the little girl will attend the services, especially all those living in the neighborhood north of the city...
