Hitt, Kenneth C.

Kenneth C. Hitt of Gordonville, Rt.1 died early Friday, May 30 at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was 52 years old.

Mr. Hitt was born May 18, 1923 in Gordonville and on Jan. 1, 1972 in Piedmont he married the former Miss Betty Becraft. He was a farmer and served as postmaster of Gordonville for the past 10 years. Mr. Hitt was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion in Jackson.

Surviving are his wife; two stepsons, Michael Eaton, Piedmont, and William Eaton, at home; three step-daughters, Mrs. Gary Helwege, Chesterfield and the Misses Vicki and Jeri Eaton, both at home; four brothers, Wesley and Harold Hitt, both of Gordonville, Sam Hitt, Granite City, Ill., and John Hitt, Huntington, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Edward hanschen, Gordonville, and one grandchild.

Services were at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau at 1:30 Sunday afternoon June 1. The Rev. M.O. Eisenhauer officiated with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Pallbearers were Roscoe Dardin, Norman Sanders, Ned Doza, Harold Skelton, Champ Lewis, and Pat Williamson.
