Hotop, Clyde A.

A funeral will be held Monday, March 5th, 2007 for 71-year-old Clyde A. Hotop of Perryville, who died Thursday, March 1st, 2007 at the Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born June 23rd, 1935 in Perry County, the son of Alphonse and Rose (Welker) Hotop. They preceded him in death.

He married Janet Pott October 3rd, 1959. She survives in Perryville.

He is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Lorna and Bruce Gibbar of Perryville, Lisa and Dave Kertz of Bloomsdale; five sons and three daughters in law, Danny Hotop of St. Louis, Dale and Elissa Hotop of Kansas City, Timothy Hotop of St. Louis, Dean and Joette Hotop of San Jose, CA, Chris and Coleen Hotop of Kansas City; three brothers, Reuben Hotop of Silver Lake, Herbert Hotop of Perryville, Robert Hotop of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace and Joseph Hotop; a sister, Rita Mueller; a great granddaughter, Shelby Hotop.

He was a retired American Family Insurance Agent (21 years) and worked as a barber for 20 years in St. Louis and Biehle.

He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, Knights Of Columbus 3rd Degree, Past Chairman and Member of the Southeast Missouri Private Industry Council, Perryville Development Corporation, Board Of Education, PTO President, Real Estate Broker and Appraiser, was actively involved with the First Act Theater productions and the St. Vincent Variety Show.

He served eight years in the National Guard and Army Reserve.

He liked to golf and fish, and was involved in gardening and woodworking.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A private visitation for the family will be held Monday morning.

A funeral for 71-year-old Clyde A. Hotop of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5th, 2007 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

You may make memorials to the Alzheimers' Association or the St. Vincent Schools Endowment Fund.
