Hotop, Leola T. (nee Sauer)
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Leola T. Hotop, 92, of Perryville died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Perryville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

A funeral will be held Saturday, September 27, for 92-year-old Leola T. Hotop of Perryville who died September 24, 2014 at Perry Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Perryville.
She was born February 27, 1922 in Apple Creek, the daughter of Ferdinand M. and Rose (Leible) Sauer who both preceded her in death.
She married Walter Hotop on September 18, 1940. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2007.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter: Gerald (Judy) Hotop and Sylvester (Joyce) Hotop both of Perryville and Norma Jean (Walter) Main of Foley; two brothers and two sisters: Florin Sauer of St. Louis, Elenora Guth of Granite City, Ferdinano Sauer, Jr. of Arnold and Rosemary Duddly of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Lonnie, Walbert and Urban Sauer and two sisters: Alvera Bellm and Virginia Sauer.
Leola was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Sodality in Biehle and she also sang in the choir.
She did laundry for the church and cooked at St. Maurus school.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 26 and 6:30-9:15 a.m. Saturday, September at Young & Sons Funeral Home.
A funeral mass for 92-year-old Leola T. Hotop of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle. The Rev. Jim French will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to St. Maurus Parish Hall.
