Huber, Melvin, J.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Melvin J. Huber, 74, of Perryville died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at his home.

He was born March 25, 1934, in Perryville, Mo., son of the late Charles and Clara E. Hoffman Huber. He and Betty A. Rottler Huber were married June 27, 1959.

Huber was a retired telephone equipment installer for Western Electric. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1263, Holy Name Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assoc., Cessna 120/140 Club and Communication Workers of America.

Survivors include his wife of Perryville; six sons, Dennis and Christopher Huber, both of Overland Park, Kan., Jeffery Huber of Clarksville, Tenn., Robert and James Huber of Perryville, and Timothy Huber of Washington, Mo.; three daughters, Sharon Balsman of Jackson, Mary Gremaud of Perryville and Laurie Beasley of Benton, Ky.; a sister, Barbara Duvall of Perryville; and 28 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Huber.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 6:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Parish wake will be at 7:30 p.m. today.

The funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Melvin J. Huber of Perryville died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Huber, 74, was a retired Telephone Equipment Installer for Western Electric.

He was born March 25, 1934 in Perryville the son of the late Charles and Clara E. (Hoffman) Huber. He was married June 27, 1959 to Betty A. Rottler who survives in Perryville.

Other survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law; Dennis and Joan Huber and Christopher and Corran Huber all of Overland Park, Kansas, Jeffery and Yvette Huber of Clarksville, Tennessee, Robert and Lisa Huber and James and Angie Huber all of Perryville and Timothy and Jackie Huber of Washington; three daughters and sons-in-law; Sharon and Randy Balsman of Jackson, Mary and Neal Gremaud of Perryville and Laurie and Gary Beasley of Benton, Kentucky; one sister, Barbara Duvall of Perryville, twenty-eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Huber.

Mr. Huber was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1263, Holy Name Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assoc., Cessna 120/140 Club and CWA. Melvin loved flying, hunting and spending time with his family.

Memorials are preferred for Masses, St. Vincent Education Foundation, Southeast Hospice, Birthright, American Cancer Society or Missouri Right to Life

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, February 9th with Parish and K of C Wake at 7:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 6:30-11:00 a.m. at Young & Sons Funeral Home.
