Huber, Patricia M.
A funeral will be held for Tuesday, July 9, 2013 for 77-year-old Patricia M. Huber of Perryville who died July 7, 2013 at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
She was born May 18, 1936 in Perry County, the daughter of Vallie and Elva Rabold Huber, who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by a brother: Larry Huber of Perryville; a sister: June Lueckel of Perryville and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Dale Huber.
Pat graduated from St. Vincent High School in Perryville, class of 1954. She entered a career in nursing; she was a registered nurse holding a Master's Degree in Nursing. She taught nursing at several universities throughout the country. She celebrated 50 years in nursing recently, during her nursing career she received many recognitions including one for her work with the lepers in Carville, Louisiana. She retired from teaching nursing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she served as a department head.
After moving back to Perryville, she also retired from Perry Oaks Nursing Home where she had served at the director of nursing.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, AmVets Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary and Perryville Elks Lodge No. 2701.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, July 8 and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.
A Perryville Elks Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., an AmVets Auxiliary Service at 7 p.m. and
a parish wake at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 8 at the funeral home.
The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 at the funeral home.
A funeral mass for 77-year-old Patricia M. Huber of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 at Our Lady of Victory Parish-Sereno, with the Rev. Milton Ryan, CM officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Patricia M. Huber Nursing Scholarship.
