Johnston, Homer Everett

Homer Everett Johnston, 80, of Jackson died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Oct. 2, 1923, at Fair Dealing, Mo., son of Otis and Lillie Collins Johnston. He and Dorothy Biri were married Nov. 16, 1946.

Johnston worked as a stockman at Hardware Wholesalers Inc. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the European Theatre. Johnston was a member of the Altenthal-Joerns Post 158 American Legion.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Tim Johnston, Shane Johnston, Jeff Johnston, Joe Johnston, all of Jackson, and Pat Johnston of St. Charles, Mo.; seven daughters, Theresa Robbins of Jackson, Eve Beatty of Thebes, Ill., Debbie Schaefer of Marion, Ky., Gail Johnston of Imperial, Mo., Autumn Hughey of Altenburg, Mo., Dawn Grammer of Oak Ridge and Beth Ballard of Marble Hill, Mo.; 30 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

There is no visitation and no service.
